I've recently found a good, easy to acquire combo: Bow and dagger. Shoot a target from a safe distance, and once it gives into pain, a swift headstab can finish it off.

Of course, the only reason I use a dagger is because it's the one you start with. I'm assuming a shortsword or spear would do it better.

Yup, but when you shot all your initial arrows, it is a pain in ass to find some other.

Also Glaives; slashes like a sword, stabs like a spear.

Me too! I just usually mod them in with a battleaxe's slash instead because I don't feel like playing fair.

Bolts and Arrows. I used to use knives but sometimes I'd slash instead of stab. So now I always have Misc User and let bandits shoot me.
The flying iron arrow strikes you in the lower body, tearing the muscle, tearing the guts muscle. The arrow is lodged in the wound.
Unfortunately I don't always survive my "collecting".
