Giant Sponge Combat Training
« on: March 16, 2012, 05:47:04 pm »

Must have been invented by now, but I've only seen giant sponge discussions in dwarf mode boards.

My vampire axe lord just encountered a giant sponge whilst crossing a river. He commenced the beating of the creature, which of course wouldn't die. I'm currently training swimming, armor user, dodger and fighter amongst other skills (axeman doesn't increase even though I swing my axe like a madman). Easy grind, but one question: how to kill the bloody thing in adventure mode?!?

Conventional methods don't really work against a Giant Sponge.  The easiest way to kill one is to air-drown it.  You could also try getting it with a syndrome or interaction if you could gain the ability to somehow throw a syndrome or interaction, like by becoming a necromancer, and keeping around a zombie dragon to breathe fire on them.

I once found a giant sponge in a river as well, and attempted to train on it, but grew bored when it kept passing out from pain... which I thought odd considering their lack of a nervous system

How do you tell when a sponge is unconscious?

Never had a bat massacre people with an axe before.
EDIT2: Oh god, the bat has got a title now.
