In 1, the man wife of shadow Lini Smokeywaves became the druid of the Burnt Flowers.

So this is either a strangely named night troll spouse becoming an elven noble, or it's an indication that elf culture is matristic.

You wouldn't rush Goya or Faulkner or Tarantino. Think about Toady as equal to those artists. And then deal with it.

I don't know what is more disturbing, the fact that it is a man-wife, or a shadow horror man wife.

I wonder how that spouse conversion works...

Night creatures, how do they work?

Well you see..when a night creature loves a mortal being VERY much, they capture the potential love interest and take them into their little night hovel. Once there, they commit to lovely tea parties with cake and dresses. The other creature, in horror, attempts to escape. If successful, they are now pregnant, while if not, they go through the birthing ritual tea party all over again.

Speaking of night creature spouses, wouldn't it be neat if we could become night trolls ourselves?

nah, it's an elf noble who became a night troll.

Really went from "necessary evil" to "unnecessary evil" IMO.

I guess the night creature found out he married a man-wife at their honeymoon.

This is what happens when you take several quirks of the naming system and combine them all into one ridiculous line.

First, titles apply retroactively, even in cases where they shouldn't.  Had you stopped worldgen before this druid was converted, the line would have read:
"In 1, the elf Lini Smokeywaves became the druid of the Burnt Flowers".

Fairly simple, but that still leaves us with the bizarre night creature name.  You're almost certainly right about it being a strangely named night creature spouse.  You could find it yourself by looking through Lini's legend entry and seeing who converted... her?  I'd guess that the original name of the species was "Man of Shadow" and the wife was added in the middle.

This might actually warrant a minor bug report for being so confusing.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule
