Wall in an area
« on: March 07, 2012, 11:03:42 am »

I was trying to wall in an area inside a cavern.
However, the farmers I sent to plant plump helmets were still killed by a cave crocodile.
I wonder if the way I did was wrong.

So, should I build another wall in the place of the red arrow? (the green tiles are natural walls and the orange tile is the wall I built).

At the first glance, yes.
But what does the orange color represent?

Yes, creatures can move through diagonal gaps.

That's a tiny farm, first off. Second, you could probably just put a cage trap there, cave crocs make excellent egg farms.

Ah, thank you.
I discovered that when the squad I sent to kill the crocodile walked 'through' the wall corner.

Note that fliers can fly diagonally-vertically too. I've been very hesitant about building walls at the edges of constructed floor tiles since such walls don't have a floor.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.
