Are they faster than dwarves/dogs/goblins? I have a stray war grizzly bear I'm keeping safe until I get a pair so I can breed them and create an army of grizzly's However, can they catch others? I have a bunch of goblin master thieves in my base and we are having trouble catching him. Obviously we will have to eventually, he's on the second level and there is nowhere for him to go. But, I'm curious if the grizzly bear can catch him.

Pretty certain they are. Well, except for maybe trained goblins or Dwarfs.

I believe that are at least as fast as dwarves or goblins with average agility. If you position them well though their speed doesn't really matter. just stick them in a hallway behind a corner and when the goblins turn the corner they will be meet with a swarm of fury death.  I believe that theives ussually have higher than average agility so your only option is probably going to be encircling and killing him, or making him run into a corner. The grizzly bears could accomplish this.

The goblin/dwarves/dogs in question were in a single entrance opening. The thief got chased in there, but he was a maste thief and any hits left nothing more than bruises which unfortunately healed almost instantly.
