Pressurizer / depressurizer switch
« on: March 03, 2012, 04:06:26 am »

being able to pressurize/depressurize a flow of water at the pull of a lever / click of a pressure plate would be nice. It would allow for nice multi-level water logic gate designs, and give a dwarven meaning to 'stack overflow'.
Would this work?

Pressure Off
Code: [Select]
....w....   .=wall
....w....   w=de-pressurized water
....w....   W=pressurized water
....XWWWW   X= closed floodgate/door
.........
Pressure On
Code: [Select]
....W....
....W....
....W....
....WWWWW
.........

Yes that would work.

I personally prefer mechanical logic due to the lower FPS impact and faster reaction times (sometimes) that you can get.  But that's personal taste.

I use this as a pressure equalizer in water works. At the flip of a lever, my pretty fountains turn into raging geysers drowning invaders. (And Defenders usually.)
