extracts and potions?

two questions...maybe they go together maybe not.

1. What is snakman venom used for? doesnt seem to be much in the wiki that i can find. same question for gnomeblight and other stuff like that.

2. Potions? some mention in wiki about them, but nothing specific. do they exist anymore/yet? if so...why?
