Help needed!! wavepoints wont work!

I HAVE READ THE WIKI!

i made a fortress earlier today and now i have a few dwarfs, so im going to make a vamp. watch, but df is refusing to let me place wave points.... HELP!!!

nvm i think i know what i did wrong now!

If you did what is on the wiki, And it ain't working.

I can't really give any other tips than redownloading dwarf fortress and putting your save file into the new dwarf fortress copy, Guessing that it would be some file corruption.
