Try a misc. object user next, and use the slab to bash brains in.

Take it from me, it's hilarious to see artifact slabs in the legends with 100+ kills to their name, just because you decided to have an adventurer kill people with a lump of rock with writing on it. It's the equivalent of someone killing people with the Rosetta Stone or something.

You seem to be under the illusion that we give a shit about what happens to dwarves who are too dumb to live.

Heh.

I made a kobold adventurer, who died when his attempts at stealth were penetrated by kobold bandits. Then I started a minotaur axe...minotaur, who has killed two pairs of ogres. They had to be finished off with skull-blows using his shield. My Ambusher skill is up to the point where I can attack a weasel with a giant axe, and it doesn't notice before bleeding to death--DESPITE being flung by my blow.

I'll start a narrative.

-----

My name is Imici Loraafuni. I was an executioner and hunter, until my family was disgraced by alleged associations with the foul ogre race. I've killed four so far. I took one's axe hand as a trophy.
I've got my old, trusty iron axe; my ogre-slaying bronze shield; some cave fish; a waterskin full of ice; and the aforementioned trophy. Also a weasel corpse, in case I need a snack.
I'm sneaking around, punting little woodland critters to relieve my tension. So far, I've killed a weasel and three rabbits. I've also got a bunch of snowballs and large roaches, for when sneaking up next to then and hacking them to death isn't an option.

My first night in the widerness, I was visited by some spirits.

Another shall stand, another shall fall...

At least if prior expeditions are any sign XD

I had a really good narrative written up, but then my computer crashed, so...basically, I wandered south far enough that the rivers were liquid in the day, after having fought off a band of bogeymen. Somehow they weren't dodging my attacks. Unfortunately, when my computer crashed, I had forgotten to save, punting me back to the far north side of the world...I'm starting a new adventurer and pretending this one didn't happen.

Another minotaur adventurer, this one focusing entirely on ambushing. First our old pals, the Lesser Salutes, sent a pair of goons to attack me. I fast-travelled one space, and got attacked by a band of ogres sent by the Morsels of Singing, who evidently sent their ringleader to deal with the guy who's never heard of them and is travelling deep in the wilderness. And, of course, there's little in the way of cover. For added lulz, I ended up being placed about 6 tiles in roughly the opposite direction of the way I'd travelled from the cooling corpses of the first bunch. I killed the ringleader's compatriots, threw half a sturgeon at him from hiding, and continued to throw such things as the heads of various ogres until a <<copper cap>> broke his toe, causing him to give in to pain. Naturally, I didn't cut off his head, I just smashed in his skull, so no neat trophies for me...Then some dingoes attack me...Hoo boy, I can't wait to see what happens when I get to the tower.

I reached the tower, and began to sneak in. The moving corpses, and even the wizard controlling them, was remarkably ignorant of my presence. Finally, I found what I was looking for: A dwarven corpse. On him were two things I needed: A waterskin containing life-giving water (mine had run dry), and Rashomuz, "Diedcrypt," the rhyolite slab.

As I crept towards the door, I heard the groans around me, which could only mean one thing.
I've been spotted!
Gods help me, I've been spotted!

I threw my pack at the door. My spine was broken. A minotaur with a pick disabled my axe arm. A corpse of another minotaur grabbed and shattered the wrist of my left, shield arm. They hacked at me with knives, axes, and other weapons. Finally, the corpse of a minotaur did me in, with a punch to the skull.

As my soul slipped out of its body towards its eternal rest, I was stopped. The necromancer, cackling, cast a spell that bound me to Rashomuz.
Two dwarf spirits and one of a minotaur looked at me. "Hey," said one of the dwarven spirits (who later introduced himself as Melbil), "look at the new guy."

There's only one option left... KILL THEM ALL WITH LOGIC BOMBS!

Best way to clear out necro towers?

Dragon fire breath.

Just be sure to give yourself [FIREIMMUNE_SUPER] and tissues with high melting points. (Or, y'know, morph yourself into a dragon.)

Heh, I'm running out of choices I guess. Once I get a normal adventurer to the tower, I'll consider cheating, but that'll take a while. My current adventurer is being gnawed on by dingoes. It started towards the beginning of his first night out, continued through the morning, and now I don't know what time it is, since the dingoes somehow blinded me, but it's probably around 24 hours after the start, given the fact that the total waiting time between turns has been in the hours. My character is somehow exhausted enough to be passing out from it a lot despite having been passed out from exhaustion for most of the past day. Fun.

Hmm...

You need two things:

Higher skills on your adventurer
Sharper weapon
