Bleeding to death

Is there any way to determine the cause of death or the location of death for the dwarves? I keep seeing "X has bled to death" but can't really find the bodies. They're dropping like flies but I haven't the slightest idea why.

If you have a bookkeeper/ treasurer, I think you can find corpses in the stocks menu and zoom to them from there. (make sure the accuracy is set high enough)
