How Heavy/Dense is bone?

And does it vary by type?

It's a dwarf.  Their natural habitat is "trapped on the wrong side of a wall".

Flinging children halfway across the map to land in magma is good, wholesome fun, but extramarital reproduction?  Why, that's just unseemly!

If I recall previous science threads bone is very light, poor at piercing armor, and (like leather) has the same properties regardless of the creature it came from. The only difference between butchering a cow and a cat is that the cow gives MORE bones, something that is probably a bad thing since larger animals wind up cluttering workshops the second the stack of 26 bones is brought into them.

Also, parts from fire/magma safe creatures will remain so.

So, if I (for example) want to have a high-damage use for a guard, without a lot of high damage "justice", Bone Crossbows are the way forward?

Adamantine crossbows are even lighter. And wood isn't as hard (also potentially lighter).

If you want a light crossbow or training hammer for your hammerer to use. Then I suggest importing "feather wood" from the elves if you can get your hands on it.

It weights nothing at all and isn't valuable like candy.

The crossbow squad, 'The Bolts of Fleeing' wouldn't even show up.

We need more were-unicorns.

Or better yet, do a half good/evil biome for unicorn husks. And unicorn zombies...

Good biomes have just become a side dish is all.
