expedition leader death
« on: November 09, 2007, 12:47:00 am »

I don't know if this a bug or a feature so I'm posting this here.

My expedition leader recently passed away and the position went vacant so I decided to appoint another of the first settlers to occupy it's position. The game let's me select another one but after closing the nobles screen and entering the screen again the position goes vacant again. I don't know if the position can only be occupied once or why it erases the new assignation.

Anyway. If the position is nonassignable even after death then it should be removed from the noble screen methinks.

I think after the Expedition leader dies, the dwarves will volunteer a dwarf to take over his place in a few months.

I had the same experience; I'd appoint a dwarf to the post, only to come back to the screen and find it vacant again.  My dwarves elected a new one when the outpost liason came.  I guess they decided someone needed to meet with him.

Yeah, eventually my dwarves appointed another leader. Still the ability to choose a new one shouldn't be there.
