Infinite magma: is it possible?

Don't tell me U-bend, because magma does not rise under pressure.

Of course it is!  It comes freely from magma pipes!  As opposed to pools, which do not replenish.

Of course, by 'freely' I mean 'really, agonizingly slowly,' but it is theoretically an infinite amount.

I have a pool in my most recent fort, Kingdom of Mushrooms.

And I'm not happy with it. I want to use a glitch in order to replenish my magma.

Well...   There's the excruciatingly slow way of creating individual tiles of magma using Tweak...

I'm sure there's some way of replicating a magma flow using Tweak, I just haven't found the right variables for it.  I'll need to take a peek at a "natural" pipe to find the differences.

I drained off a small section off the top of a pool to power my forges, down a pipe 1 tile wide by about 30 tiles long, subsequently bringing the top layer of the pool so it was at 6s and 7s.

3 years or so later, all the 6s are gone?

My pool would therefore appear to be replenishing itself.

Actually, it seems magma tubes fill up surprisingly quickly. If you have a series of pumps, you can get as much as you need very quickly.

And you must be blind to not notice that you already answered your own question.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

The only thing I can think off (which doesn't really answer your question, I know) is to drain your large pool of magma into a smaller pool of magma.

This would at least ensure that its deep enough to use for forges...

This probably doesn't work, but in real life it does: drop stones into the pool.
