vloodgates and pressure switch

is there any way to make a pressure switch close a vloodgate permanently when it gets wet?

There should be an option on the pressure plate to make it trigger only once.

My stray dogs often chase fire imps back into the magma pipe and then continue fighting while burning and drowning in the lava. Truly their loyalty knows no bounds, but perhaps it should.

Ok, I understand once. But twice? What's the floodgate done to you to make you call it "vloodgate" (bloodgate?) ..  :)

i mean ... floodgates are closed wen you build them so im assuming that they open opon the trigger... but i want it to close...
like when a room gets flooded it seals itself atomaticly.

The new gadgets in this version gives you a multitude of options.

You could for instance have a pressureplate rigged to a floodgate and tell it to trigger on 0 water. That way it'll be open as long as there's no water around.

Or you could use the opposite of a floodgate, a raisable bridge, and have it raise in one direction and block access once water touches the touchplate.
