This is a simple request from the DF modding community. I'm thinking about starting a community fort, but with ELVES. Simply making them playable isn't enough, I need to amp it up. Here's my wishlist:
-Elves can bring axes and picks with them at embark
-All the basic nobles, like manager, militia commander, broker, hammerer etc.
-A workshop/reaction that makes wooden weapons be on par with metal weapons made of bronze or copper
-A workshop that lets you create wooden weapons (NOT training weapons)
-adding labors like mechanics or gem cutting

I'm either to ignorant or busy to completely mod all of this in

go raw -> objects find entity_default.txt
control + f and search for FOREST replace the entire wall of text with this one.

Ranger Captains replace Militia Commanders/captains. I included all nobles I deem 'basic' but if you'd like more you'll need to provide a complete list.

Trickier and more time consuming to do, (workshops especially) unfortunately my resources are focused elsewhere, sorry. If anyone else has time, this is the simplest way I can think of. You'll need to update the entity accordingly.

You should be able to do so in fort mode. Even if they don't appear in legends.
