How do I equip armor? (and other dumb questions)

Sorry, I really can't figure it out. I have an iron mail shirt, bought totally legitly from a store, and have it out of a container. I even took off my shirt and coat, but I still can't put it on. What's wrong?

What race are you? Elves and Dwarves cannot wear Human sized armor and vice versa.

Well, as long as I have a dumb question thread open, how would I go about finding a dungeon entrance? I've been given a quest to kill some outlaw in a dungeon, and I've gone to where my *TSK* thing says on the surface, but I'm pretty sure it's underground.

Forts or temples usually have access routes through the bottom.
