I'm curious: Do cage traps block line of sight? That is, if you trap a necromancer in a cage, can he still raise dead things to fight from inside the cage? Should be easy to test, but I'm sticking with Adventure mode for the moment so I won't know until later. Gonna assume fer the nonce that cages are as impregnable as always, but you never know...

These bastards can not only raise the dead, but ANY part of a once-living creature. They can raise ligaments, untanned hides, hair, anything. Either use him for !!SCIENCE!! to find the limits of his powers (or the melting temperature of Necromancers) or just do the thorough thing and drop him onto semi-molten rock, completely annihilating him.

I'm pretty sure that necromancers can only raise heads, grasping body parts (I guess that would include the trunks of Fortress Defense Elephants then), and apparently structural or skin bodyparts (shells and skin). Hair can be raised because it maintains its association with the head, I believe.

Most definatly on the heads. I have pikedwarves playing some demented kind of soccer/golf/croquet with a boar head and a tick person head because they wont stay dead.

Necromancers can raise things from coffins, according to devlog.

Cages block LoS, you can tell because dwarves don't run from caged goblins.

I imagined the dwarves always poked the goblins with sticks in those situations.

The legendary vampire fish-man that the Humans sent as their liaison certainly had an unpleasant reception.

As is fitting to such an abomination to Armok.
