Pretty sure you can avoid that if you have a high observer skill, especially if you also have high intuation (and possibly high spacial sense).

But if you don't put any points in observer, you're going to get ambushed a lot.

I keep getting ambushed by the same group. Sneak and slip away, ambushed after another mile of walking. They're tracking me... :O

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

It's probable that you generated a world with lots of beasts, though I too experience an unusual amount of Kobold ambushes...

I was attacked by lions  for almost every step for about one edge of a 67x67 map to the other, stupid questgivers.. I did every single quest in the world and they started to make me travel across the world. My adventurer died with over 6000 lion kills under his belt altogether.

Yes, they call you a rasict, and then they shot you and take your cocaine.

It's absolutely ridiculous, I killed well over fourty dingoes, ten bandits, and two lions in one night before I just started fleeing. Of course fleeing means I have to abandon my followers and without Urist McCheesemaker to hold my hand bogeymen come after me.

Oh man, I had that happen to me too. I never realized before how annoying they were to fight.
