I have seen one person mention that its faster. Not many people have been able to test it yet really (as FPS testing is usually later game)

Threetoe said the game got faster for him.

I can attest that worldgen got a bit slower though, at least on my computer. I suppose that's to be expected.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Significantly slower, but it's more fun to watch. You actually leave the age of myth.

I've noticed significantly longer load times for world gen and saving/loading games compared to 31.25. Have not played Fortress mode yet, only adventure mode. And it is still the same speed it was before, which isn't surprising.

Ive only played one game so far in fortress mode - things seem comparable, atm i cant be more specific, getting around 80fps with 70 dorfs on a core 2 duo, but thats roughly what i got in df2010. It certainly isnt any slower yet.

Adventure mode is slower and world gen is slower, more stuff going on, more loading etc.

I haven't been able to get any vomit this release. Not any I can pick up, at any rate.

When I said it was faster I meant wait till you have 256 dwarfs,
plus pets, wildlife, caravan, and huge goblin invasion,
and its still totally playable.

I agree. With a large number of dwarves it's faster. With >100 dwarves I never had more than 130 fps (IIRC) before this update. With the latest update I still have >200 fps. Anyway I'm not 100% sure about it, and it was only my second fort (had to cancel both because of bugs :D), but ThreeToe also said it so it's probably true :D

Thats what I meant when I said FPS is not testable til late fortress...

Adventure mode is turn based...and as such FPS doesn't mean anything in it

Screw you ppl and your some how better computers then me!! :P

I haven't gotten the updated yet and I am still using 2010...simply because..I can't fathom me using the in game system to set up skills...just no..I need DT. I NEED IT LIKE A DRUG!

Anywho, in 2010 I get about 80fps starting out, then drops to 30 and usually stays there unless i have sieges and about 80 dwarfs.....then i can get as low as 10 for a just a bit...but jumps to 20 and eventually 30 again...

Never had more then 130 dwarfs...as really i am still learning and only been playing on and off since Oct.

i actually have trouble not leaving the age of myth.

Megabeasts get chopped up within the first 100 years, mostly.
even in a large world.
