Human towns, no Dwarven Gear?
« on: February 14, 2012, 01:01:16 pm »

Hey everyone, hope everyone is having fun with this new release, because I am muahah

I just have a question: Anyone knows if human towns really sell no dwarven gear?
I can't find any equipment for my dwarf, and since Moumtain Hall sites aren't ready yet...

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

Yeah this has been a problem for Dwarven adventurers for a while now - was hoping the new version might have fixed it, but apparently not. Human towns really should have some Dwarf-sized armor, they do import from Dwarven lands after all, perhaps in a few more patches. In the meantime your best bet is killing and scavenging from Dwarven bandits.

Of course you could always 'cheat' and start a fortress just to produce some decent gear then abandon it, the only trouble is tracking down the abandoned fortress on your adventurer, try founding it close to a human city perhaps.

The good news is that ghosts die of old age.

What I usually do is make a City dwelling subgroup of dwarves but it looks like entity Default has changed a bit since I made my Marsh dwarves. for 31.25 or whatever was the previous incarnation.  I think if you set up city dwarves they make armor in the size of the civ which would be small.

If by dwarf cities you mean fortresses, I'm afraid not.

Is there really a problem? I just bought a new iron long sword at my local dwarven weapon-smith. I mean there live a lot dwarves in towns, so they should produce the gear you need.

If you start near a goblin fortress you can get armor from there.
They will send a armored squad of soldiers after anyone who comes near.
Night creatures and megabeasts that live near goblin and dwarven settlements will also often have small sized armor in their lair.

But yeah, it has been like that for a long time, very little has improved with the new version.
