Probably not good
« on: February 11, 2012, 10:11:44 am »

I just tried to designate a digging job and it started on the chop down tree designation which I know happened because some of the layer I was on was outside. The problem is though that I tried then to change it to digging and for some reason it wouldn't change. I made sure my keyboard was working first of all, and I know the game didn't crash because I can still change layers and move the cursor. Thing is though, I can't change the designation, or actually designate anything, and everything in my fortress is blinking with a light blue arrow. Some are red, but most are light blue. I literally can't do anything except change layer and move the cursor.

Weird man ... weird. :o

Can't mash escape over and over until you get to the Abandon Fortress screen? Then Return to Game and try again?

It may be one of the keys you held down earlier and...maybe a keyboard issue?

Try remembering what keys you pressed, then press it again to stop the repeat. Or if you had caps lock on and set any switch or lock.

I actually meant to say question marks, rather than arrows. For some reason when I went back to the game after making this thread everything was working fine again. So thanks for the help guys!

Sounds like you made a burrow instead, maybe?

This or similar is my vote too.  One way to get out of these unintended issues is almost always the escape key.

The thing is I didn't make a burrow, I know I didn't, and the first thing I tried when I realized there was a problem was the escape key. When I said nothing worked, I meant nothing.

So can you even escape out of the game to save it?
Than send it to us so we can test your save and see if we have the same problem?
You can upload your save here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/index.php
and give us the link
