Tavern. Hopefully, we can catch someone who is sauced and off their guard, and likely to make mistakes.

You step into the tavern, the man who you met the night before is with you. his name is Mynn. (M-inn) there are two worthy candidates. one is drinking his heart out. He has a few portal tokens, using them as cup coasters, he doesn't have much money it seems, because he is in rags. So he probably isn't very successful. another man actually has some kobolds out (probably no tokens, you all got tokens recently.), 3 as usual. He is a bit more sober though. The kobolds have a sword, no weapon, and a crossbow.

Let's challenge the guy with his kobolds out. We can fight the drunkard in a moment in any case.

you walk up to the man who has the kobolds, he looks up at you "aye, you got something to say?"
Mynn tells him "Yup, we'd like a friendly practice session."
He nods, and looks into his cup. "fifty coins to the victor, get some more ale for me." he said with a grin. You headed to the back area, patted down dirt, for countless uses.
He sends out his kobolds

Switch out the Haven, our accomplice said it is fairly weak. Have our piker target the enemy crossbower.

(every time you get  new card, it's stats are placed in the library (second post) and yes, it may seem stronger than the kobolds, but compared to regular basic cards it is pretty weak. but, it has no strengths other than infernal creatures, so yeah, it's best to switch out.)

Haven swaps out after switching places. Macer sent out!

Enemy:
L: crossbow H-6 R: sword H-6
You:
L:Piker H-6 R: Macer H-6

Piker hits crossbower twice for 4 damage total, Macer defaults and hits sworder twice for 2 damage total.

Enemy turn
Crossbower uses defend, attacks with available attack for 1 damage, 1 defence point.

Focus on the crossbower. We'll probably be able to take it out.

Focus both attacks on the sworder, on the off chance the first one fails to kill it.

The kobold is obviously defeated, no chance in winning for it.

"Ok,you won. take the coins." He tosses your accomplice a bag with 50 coins. "that's 250, 50 more coins and we can open a portal. opening a portal means we can get 3 more soldiers. You head back into the bar, the guy from before is asleep, but you can wake him. Another guy seems like he has some portal tokens, but he's bragging to others about his army, so it may not be too easy. A woman off to the side also seems a bit groggy, but may not yield too much reward because she seems to have 3 kobolds and something else... And a man in a black cloak is standing in a corner, acting shady. He has two purple tokens, and a red token. (from now on I will refer to the red tokens as infernal tokens)

We don't need to worry about big rewards. Challenge the woozy lady.

you walk up to the woman and ask her for a friendly match. "Alright then. I'll just go out back." she pulled out her portal token, the kobolds follow her outside. "Winner gets 50 coins, deal?" With a nod, she begins the duel.

Enemy field:
L: Kobold hammerer R: Kobold crossbower
2 tokens in reserve
Your field:
L: Kobold bower R: Kobold piker
2 tokens in reserve

make your move. (the "other" token (card if you want to call it that) is a basic card, nothing all to special in case you worried.)
