Picking noise

Im recording guitar(electric) with a mic, but i have some picking noise, i find it disturbing... I can get rid of buzz coming from work of amp bshhhhhhhhhhhh thing but i cant get rid of pick noise ;( i tried using different pickup modes and different picks, getting lighter pick just makes it worse becouse it make pop pop pop sound when i pick. While fat pick doesnt but still makes some sound. Tried moving mic too
Maybe too much treble... or something.

How and why are you recording an electric guitar with a mic? My first thaught was it might be your strings but I havent played in so very long.

I record with mic couse i gotz no cable to connect amp and computer
No i changed strings 3 days ago, strings dont have much to picking noise, unless u mean gauge. (i think getting thicker strings would solve it but i want to play on these)

what kind of mic are you using then, because form what I can make of this its either how your recording, where your recording, what your recording with, or what your making the noise with

I'd suggest investing in the cord.

Wow. I could have sworn on the life of my first born offspring that the title of this thread was "Picking nose". I spent a few seconds staring at the OP wondering what the hell electric guitars had to do with nose picking.

Plug your electric guitar into an amp, then mic the amp. :)

Pick noise can be solved through practice and proper technique. What does your teacher say?

I mean, im recording in audacity, yes i plugged guitar and mic ed the amp.
Didnt ask teacher yet. I think problem may be in using too much gain, but my amp is shitty (guitar got better since teacher upgraded it by regulating bridge and truss rod) So i cant turn it down otherwise cant hear any distortion
Or action is too low (The regulation made upper frets (the ones which play low notes) very soft to play, but lower frets buzz always, im learning some Megadeth and Metallica now so this wont be problem for now) anyway, back on topic, no this is not improper technique, or at least i think so since pick noise is on every fret, everywhere, even open notes.

Personally... I use a heavy-gauge pick, hold it at a slight angle to the strings, and choke up on the pick so only the very tip of the pick contacts the strings.

As far as amp settings, my personal preference is to set the EQ flat (+/- 0) and then cut (rather than boost) as necessary.

But it is all personal preference. :)
