Goblin comes back to life
« on: February 05, 2012, 01:50:34 am »

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I was having a look through the legends and I came across this Goblin who seems to have been killed, only to come back to life 3 years later and killl 4 legendary fighters.  Is this a common occurence?  I don't really know how to use the bug tracker, so i'm not sure if this is a known bug.

Looks like Toady loaned that goblin a time machine and let him get resurrected by one of the mages we will have many years decades from now...

Wasn't there a bug he said he fixed where megabeasts would continue killing after they died?

Hrm, very odd... Is it possible that Stosbub badly wounded each of those dwarves who died after him, and then years later when they somehow died, he somehow received the credit?

This.

I know it's fairly common but I killed 180+ people in his civilization before I went after him. I was kind of hoping for something a bit more substantial than a sucker punch and penis theft.

I didn't consider this, it is possible the goblin injured each of the dwarves who later died.  The fort succumbed to a combination of siege from above and demons from below, if these dwarves were killed by a deadly dust (i.e. being knocked around and colliding with an obstacle) maybe the demon wouldn't get credit for it.

I guess fallen enemies coming back from the grave to seek vengeance will have to wait for a future release.

This means those Dwarves were hit last by Stosub, and when they died, DF attributed their deaths to the last person to strike them - in this case, Stosub.

This ... might be true but three years?

I'm gonna have to call bug on it.

It may be a bug, but at least we know the mechanism that causes it ;P

Maybe they'd each had an infection and they had been brewing in each victim for years until the dwarfs died of poisoning just as they fortress started to crumble to its end
