Question: Can I mix and match different units from different armies/races under one control when building my army?

aka Am I allowed to have an elf master bowman and a hammer dwarf as part of my army?

And for the specials...
Quote
Special: Can take any Strikers unit for their full points cost, but not taking up a Strikers choice. If the unit is deployed in an unusual way, the Bladelord is deployed with them.
What do you mean take any (insert unit here) for full point cost but not taking up a (insert unit here)'s choice?
Does it mean you get the unit free of point charge?

1. I do not think so, because you are only able to attack other factions so it would make no sense to use multiple faction. the OP is ofc the one who decides but...

2. See the rules:

It means you can have more than three striker troop, but you still have to pay for them.

The dwarfs have little troops, but they're skilled and are equipped with steel.

The humans are numerous, but have average gear and soldiers.

the elves have little armor and weapons, but have many bowmen and animal companions.

My guess is that the goblins will have more troops than the humans, but will be severely under-equipped and the beast-men will have a variety of naturally strong and weak soldiers, but won't have the gear that the others have.

I want to see a Kobold force too. They would be rather weak, but have a lot of special rules for flanking and the like, along with the ability to spend points for better gear (stolen from other groups, of course).

My bet is that the Dwarves are severely underpowered because if the high cost of elites and relative low strength of them. but we'll see :)

Dwarf: 1
Human: 0

Human Army
Quote
Standard-bearer (30)
General (65) (Bronze Scimitar)
   Enforcers Squad of 3 (30)
(2) Knights (70) (Bronze Longsword)
(4) Peasant Squads of 13 (120) (all spears)
(2) Soldier squads of 8 (40)
   16 Axes (64)
(3) Archer Squads of 4 (72)

Dwarf Army
Quote
1x Hammerlord (commander)
base (60) + helm (15) + silver hammer (30) +shield (45)
5x Miltia (6 per squad) (troop)
base 5x(4x6)
1x Milita (5 per squad) (troop)
base (4x5)
2x Cave Dragon (heavy)
base 2x(70) + iron armor 2x(35)

Let's see how well the dwarves fare against their mortal enemies, THE ELVES! (and their elephants) I am a tad bit concerned about whether that Hammerlord will be able to singlehandedly take on my entire army of wooden bows and armor

On another note, how in the world do tables (grids) work?

I accept your challenge noodle. But what do you mean singlehandedly? I assume my army will resurrect right?

I assume you get your army back, but what I meant in my last post was that I still haven't fiddled around with material quality testing that much yet, so I have no idea how potent a single steelclad uber-dwarf will be compared to a squadron of archers and animals.

quick question, can cave dragons breath fire? Assuming they can, that'd be a pretty massive advantage against the shieldless elves

Quote from: WIKI
Cave dragons are gigantic beasts which were once dragons who have adapted to life underground. Unlike their above-ground brethren, they do not breathe fire, but they do appear to be immune to the effects of fire. Happily, they are not immune to the effects of a dwarf's best friend. These have wings (which lack the ability to fly) and have white scales, but besides this are exactly as dangerous as their above ground cousins. Oddly, despite their description, regular Dragons do not have wings, much less functional ones, though Cave Dragons do.

They do not :(

I have a suggestion for this thread/game:
Armies can get a 'promotion' for every few battles won, which means they get +250 points to spend on their army. Maybe some easy formula like wins needed = 2 Wins + 1 Win per promotion(. Of course players can agree to not use a part of their army to avoid having an unfair fight.

EDIT: sorry for double post :X

I dunno, it would kinda give the game the slippery slope feel although I guess a smaller promotion like +50 points wouldn't be too bad. The elves won't quite benefit from this as much though due to their generally inferior weaponry and lack of strong unit upgrades outside of calling in bigger pets.

>PREPARING TO RUN FIGHT

-Promotions could be sorted as 'ranks'. As you went up in rank, your army size would increase, and perhaps more unit categories would be added.
-Armies DO respawn between battles.
-I'll copy/paste armies into the first page, for everyone's ease.
-The cave dragons are more 'tank' units than anything, really. They can take quite a beating.

Awesome! Kinda sad that I lost, but good fight was good.
Looks to me that quality>quantity so far.

So can you do a run on the elves vs humies or are we finished for good?
