So, I had 16 goblins attack, 15 macemen, 1 lasher on a rat. It really suprised me. I stationed my soldiers of 17 infront of my gate, and I watched the goblins kill the poor innocent dwarves fishing, then when they reached the gate, I lost 3 of my menI only have 6 soldiers left. , they lost 4. Good for 10 soldiers with axes and 7 unarmed huh? :/
I lost my militia commander, militia captain, 1 axedwarf, and 1 axelord.
Then another 6 were trapped in cages
This leaves 6 left, but my civilians are going crazy, seriously.
The 6 left includes 5 macemen and 1 lasher on a giant rat

I dont even know if I should open my bridges, afraid my civilians will pour out and get killed.

Should I open the gate and murder these goblin scum, or wait and regroup?
