Mosus Mountainback: Journey to the past

Spoilered for great wall of text.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So, here's what's going on. I got into Dwarf Fortress a few months ago, and until 39 came out had never played anything but 38c. A while ago, I saw someone asking for the last 2D version and thought "Hey, that's a good idea. Maybe I'll try that." So, I downloaded it and started playing, and holy carp it's different. Anyway, I thought that since I'm probably going to die horribly, it would be a good idea to record my failure and humiliation in a public place for everyone to see. Hope I'm not stealing anyone's idea, if I am just give me a virtual slap and I'll delete and pretend it never happened.

Oh, for timeline I'm going like this: Age of Myth(0-199), Age of Legend(200-599), Age of Heroes(600-999), Golden Age(1000+), After Beasts(current version, 0+)

Sounds good so far.  I will admit, I had the idea of starting a Retro Fortress 2D succession game.  But hey, go for it man.

I found DF back in November, not long after the big switch to 3D, so I've never known it the old way.  Light stone?  Build Channel?  No personalities or broker skills?  It's so damn different I can hardly play it.

Dang, that would have been fun. No reason not to do it still, though. I call a spot if you do.  :P

So he is in both the past, the future and in another world?
Trippy.

Heh, yeah. I'm thinking of it as an BC and AD type thing, because I over rationalize everything. If I were smart I'd just ignore it.
