Have they not added female playable characters yet?

DF Suggestions / 1 block of stone > 1 stone wall / floor
« on: June 17, 2018, 03:18:58 pm »
A cube of stone is Pretty Big in this game: apparently every creature in the game, including a Blue Whale can fit in it, meaning it should be at least 25 meters cubed. But, even if we chalk that up to approximation, and things not being to scale, it's still probably about the size of a narrow hallway; about 2 meters cubed.

So, that's roughly how much stone you get out of it. Quite a bit, really. which is Far more than is used in walls. Maybe some massive, fortress walls are that thick, but when you're building a house that's definitely not.

Each block of stone you get, should certainly be used to make far more than a single wall or floor. I'd say something like, can be used to make 4 walls, of 16 floors, might be more appropriate. Certainly would make the creation of houses out of stone... or wood for that matter... much easier.

I've been waiting for a while now for more modding options with syndromes and divine interactions. Right now, the only way to make a custom divine curse or secret to appear more than once (I think?) is to copy the raws for it multiple times... so would the upcoming Magic release add more control for modded secret frequency?

Furthermore, there's not many tags that can be applied using syndromes. For instance, I really want to be able to apply creature variations in this way. Would this be possible? If so, would it be in the magic release, or later?

I'm really sad there hasn't been more new toys for the modders this release :(
I'll take quality over quantity quite happily. The ability to grant civs specific creatures, instead of having to make do with the [COMMON_DOMESTIC] and [EVIL] tags, was long overdue. It should allow for custom civs to have a lot more character.

I'm still patiently waiting for the ability to apply creature variations through syndromes, and define how frequently a modded secret or curse appears in worldgen.

There are two things I really think need to be top priority for fixing.

1) Better combat. Running away from faster moving enemies while holding the space bar in their general direction? Not very entertaining. Give enemies wind-up animations for their attacks, make em a bit slower, give some charge attacks, maybe even give spitters some bullet patterns. Ooh! And boss-type enemies! Because why not?

2) Less punishment for failing to defend your base. I had to cheat, just hours away from completing the campaign, because enemies started overwhelming me. Spamming laser turrets and such, but then I ran out of power, and it was far too late for me to get more oil to my base. Enemy raids should have a 'morale' system. They lose morale as they destroy your stuff, or as they die, or over time. When they run out of morale, they retreat. When a building is destroyed, it leaves a wreck, and repair kits are all that's needed to bring it back to working order, as opposed to rebuilding it from scratch. This can be balanced by having more frequent (though maybe smaller) enemy attacks.

The character creator lets you create the exact person you want... If it is a woman.

Can't even do that. Just try and make a fat woman in the creator. It's impossible.

I obliterated the entire world, both monsters and humans, so that's a couple billion. Only took me a couple dozen tries to kill the damn skeleton trying to stop me.

A game with a non-sexualized monster girl protagonist. I can only think of one.

Undertale + Heroes of the Storm.

...

I'm not sure what would be more interesting. Going around befriending or murdering Blizzard characters, or a MOBA with Undertale characters...

In Undertale, where you can make decidedly amoral decisions
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
.

However, her presence is much more appreciated in games like XCOM, where the aliens have no Mercy button, and you are fighting for the sake of the human race.

^ Basically this

They're still technically the floaters we know and love, complete with anger management issues. The Aliens have just gotten a lot better at merging human and alien DNA together to get a good public image.

XCOM only exists to protect Shen Jr, the ultimate paragon of humanity. All evolution culminated in her flawless creation. She could step on me and I'd say "Thanks"
