IT LIVES ONCE MORE!  *Invents new railway type that keeps train on the rail at all times, regardless of what happens.  Even if a freakin thermonuclear weapon went off nearby, it'd STAY ON THE RAILS!*

If it's possible to join, I'd like to do so.  If there's a wait list, I'm fine with being put on it as well.  If not, meh.  I'll just watch.  :3

Uh, wow.

Dude. My goodness. Your life sounds... well, like you definitely have a luck of -25. Or -50.

You seem to be taking it well, though, based on your post. You've got quite a bit of will.

Used to be that I was incredibly depressed over a lot of it.  But these days, I take it in stride, mostly because a lot of my better skills and traits are a direct result of the early years of my life.  Sure, it was hell, but it was worth it.

I took a correspondence course instead of attending high school.  That's where I learned to self-teach myself.  I also got an excessive amount of skill with a computer, thanks to lack of a social life.  I've been writing code since I was 10 years old, as well.

And for the inexplicable miracle/curse.  My hearing impairment?  Disappeared at age 16.  It was caused by a permanent inner ear infection.  Ironically, that's about the same time my sinus issues started.  So the two might be related.  It's effectively a miracle because it's unheard of for most people with a hearing impairment to regain ALL of their hearing.  It's a curse because it brought with it a set of problems.

Most people learn to tune out background noise early on in life.  When you have a 70% hearing loss in both ears, you don't learn this critical skill.  Going from 70% loss in hearing to 0% is kind of jarring.

I've since adapted to it somewhat, and when I can't handle the noise, I just throw on a pair of noise canceling headphones.

The only real problem I can't get a handle on is my temper, and I doubt it'll ever be fully controllable.  Currently, the best I can muster is avoiding hurting others.  I usually end up venting by punching benches or solid walls.  Word of the wise, don't punch benches.  It's how I broke my hand.

But yeah.  Crappy life, but eh.  What can I do about it now?  Better to just move on and keep doing what I enjoy.  Sooner or later, karma will reward me somehow.

Besides, it's that crappy life that made me the interesting person I appear to be today.

@Edit 2: ...Groups of 8 or more students? O.o Wut?

Put simply, I didn't get along with the other students.  I was picked on a lot because people thought I was dumb as a brick, or too quiet for their liking.  There were a few scenarios where I was attacked by groups of up to 8 students in attempt to put me out of school for a few days to a few weeks.

The most frequent reasons people thought those kinds of things of me were because I was born with a hearing impairment.  This made picking up speech quite hard, along with using it.  I had a lisp, and I would always ask people to repeat themselves.  People took that as a sign that I was an idiot because I couldn't understand what they were saying.  I kept quiet mostly because I was more likely to be picked on if I tried talking to anyone.

One student even pulled a knife on me for these reasons.  That... didn't go over so well.

Oh, and while this all sounds bad, I got my revenge at 13 years of age.  I had enough of the bullying, and one day, a bully decides to push me over the edge.  Smashed the ever living shit out of him to the point that he was afraid to go into the school while I was inside it.  I got suspended, but not for the fight.  It turns out that the school didn't take too kindly to me cursing and swearing in a rage towards a volunteer worker.  Also didn't help that it was in front of a bunch of 5 year old kids.

Haven't gotten into a fight since.  Mostly because I opted not to go to high school.

EDIT:  In all honesty, I share a lot of traits with your character, Dominique.  I'm violent, and I seek out fights.  The primary difference is that I have self control.  I hold myself back from doing something truly stupid.  Most of the time, anyways.  I'm pretty sure that professor still has a lot of hatred towards me. >.>;  *Coughs*

EDIT2:  This is quite literally the only problem with being awake at night.  I have no one to talk to, and I am often too tired to work, and not interested in any more gaming.  The result?  I sort of just sit here in my bed, with my laptop on my lap, and lurk the forums or read.  *Reads CvRTD.*

They would try to lobotomize him and then James' brain would punch them to death.

Considering the utter bad-ass that James is when it comes to punching things, this sounds totally believable.  Your brain would psionically grow a fist and punch the Immortal lobotomizers until they get the freakin' message.
Though with his luck, it wouuld punch through his skull first :P

That's true.  On top of that, even if it didn't, he'd probably be blind, what with the little lobotomizers going through the eyes and all.

... Alright then, just give James a hit to the head or two.  Make sure Dom doesn't do it, otherwise he might be missing a head afterwards.

EDIT:  My stats:

STR:  12-14 - I can do some heavy lifting up to about 60-70 kilos.
DEX:  8-14 - I tend to trip a lot, but always seem to catch myself.
AGI:  2 - I've got the movement speed of a sloth.
CON:  16 - Despite insomnia, sinus issues and asthma, I'm relatively healthy.  I rarely get sick.  And if I do, I become immune to the illness pretty quickly.
END:  18/00 - I was up and moving about 3 minutes after having my appendix removed.  I walked around for 3+ hours with a broken hand.  I've been beaten up by groups of 8 or more students and walked away without issue.
INT:  16-18 - Egotistical, perhaps, but it's made up for with my wisdom.  Anyhoo, I can self-teach myself most anything, and observe most things from at least three different perspectives.
WIS:  0 - I'm as dense as lead.  Possibly even more dense than lead.
CHA:  14-16 - I seem to be a pretty likeable person.  Ugly as sin, but likeable regardless.
LUK:  -25 - Considering what I've been through, this seems reasonably accurate.

EDIT2:  I just proved my luck.  I slipped and fell on the stairs while climbing them.  Smashed up my knee and right arm a tad.  Ow.

EDIT3:  FINALLY!  I have read the 6800+ posts of this topic!  AT LAAAAAAAAST~~~!

... And now I have to wait for more!  CRAP!

EDIT4:  Insomniaaaaaa~~~!

Oh god, if an immortal suit got put on James...
The suit would freak out and literally run out of the base in sheer terror from the utter mess that is James' mind.

Either that, or somehow link with the Shadow instead of James' own consciousness.  Then he could walk around with the suit and retain control.  Mind you, the lobotomy might hurt like heck and make him useless.

I'm ashamed of you not mentioning Taric's Porn Power.

In all truthfulness, I expect it to backfire and affect the entire team in some horrifying way.  That's how PyroDesu would survive.

Anyways, my excuse for not mentioning it is that I'm tired.  Very very tired.  Yes, that's the ticket.  *Hides the fact that he is currently writing code.* >.>

Body isn't playing nice again tonight.  Well, back to reading.  Just shortly after Taric and James got their asses saved after Taric locked the two of them in a room with a bunch of deadheads.

EDIT:  @PyroDesu:  Draignean gave you an 8% chance of success of killing someone.  I'm gonna take that chance, and lower it to 2% myself.  After James' awesome punching, Tarran's successful dual wield, and Dom's DOOR KICKING POWER!!, I think you're more likely to end up with a serious headache and numerous bullet holes.  You'll still be alive, though.  Somehow.

I don't mind giving out such information either, for the most part. No one else on Bay12 lives in Kentucky anyway, and oddly it seems like at least 80% of the people I associate with are either in Florida, Australia, or Canada; all places much too far away to come bother me in person. XD

Yeah, most of the people I know are out in the UK or some European country.  I used to know one person in Australia.  Played a lot of Diablo 2 with him at the time.  Haven't heard from him in years though.

I also know a few people here and there in the United States, and a few around Canada.  I've even visited a few.  Back in 2005, I visited a friend in California.  Also got a trip to Seattle at one point, for an interview with Microsoft.  Wasn't too fond of Seattle, though.  Too much rain, and the atmosphere felt odd.

Hail fellow Ontarien!

Hail and well met!  More specifically, I'm in a small town called Orleans, that's also considered a part of Ottawa.

No, I'm really not afraid to give this kind of info out.  If someone was going to kill me, stalk me, or something else, they'd have done it ages ago.

And ideally, his death would have absolutely no emotional impact on our characters. :P

Considering that A)  I wouldn't know the lot of you in the first place,  B)  The lot of you are (awesome) nutcases, and C)  It's meant as a joke and not much else, I don't think it really needs to be said that it should have no impact or reaction at all.  If it did, I'd expect no more than a flat "Huh," and then back to shooting, dying and/or weaponization of porn. :P

EDIT:  I really need to cycle my sleep cycle around again to the 7 AM-3 PM schedule.  This insomnia's gonna be the death of my sanity in a few days if this keeps up.  I'm only managing to keep it stable by reading this thread and hovering over this thread like a hawk.

EDIT2:  Clearly I am hallucinating.  I just read about Tarran dual wielding and actually managing to hit his target, and *ONLY* his target.

Also, James gets +5 bad-ass points for horrifically murderlating the deadheads with his FIST OF DOOM.

Dom also gets +2 bad-ass points for wanting to douse the Emaciated Immortal in acid.  I dunno what the result of that is though yet, so yeah.  You might get a few more points.

EDIT3:  Dom, congrats, you got another +8 bad-ass points.  Draignean even gets +10 for writing it out in such a harsh and disturbing manner.  Awesome work, man.

Also, for Tarran's success in dual wielding, and doing such a damned good job of it, +5 bad-ass points.

EDIT4:  Since everyone seems to know where everyone else is.  Ontario, Canada here.  *Cepheid loses 1000 everything points.*

Hope to some day change it to the Netherlands or some other European country.

Me. I bought that sweet gun with my cold, hard earned free cash.

If you have a problem with that, I'm more than happy to give you my gun's opinion. Just be ready to lose a limb.

I do have a problem with that!

Draignean, I have a request, and you can ignore it if you want, but...  The next time Tarran misses a shot with his anti-tank gun, I want it to hit a random, out-of-nowhere, unimportant person by the name of Cepheid, and immediately kill him.  Ideally it would have absolutely no impact on the story.

Close Cepheid- it was 1070 (I checked).

That battle was where I learned fists were better for James than guns.

Bah.  I was off by TEN POINTS.  Anyways... You just reminded me of that bit of epicness.  James gains 2 bad-ass points!

... Tarran can handle the Metal Gears and power armor and such with his anti-tank rifle ...

Who gave Tarran the ability to turn tanks into Swiss Cheese?

James no get bad!@# points for things Q.Q

In all honesty man, you haven't really done anything truly awesome yet, up to what I've read.  Most of my fondest memories of you involve you running around like a ninny screaming about ants, or just randomly firing your gun and getting shot for it.

Though, I will have to admit you do get about oh... 5 coolness points for being the only person with a fungus growing in their head, and a consciousness that can perform random psionics.

Give it time though, I still have another 30 or so pages of 50 posts each to go through.  Maybe you DO get some bad-ass points.

Is that a challenge?

*Aims guns at the backs of teammates*

Oi, I like your teammates, plea-  Oh, wait, you're dual wielding at your teammates.  You'll just hit the enemies.  Nevermind, carry on.

Haha, oh wow, I forgot about that. ^^^ Yeah, wasn't it like 3 or 4k off of a critical headshot with the Abassy? :3 I love that gun and I love kinetics. All I need. Tarran can handle the Metal Gears and power armor and such with his anti-tank rifle, I'll take care of everything else. ^^^

If I recall correctly, it was a 27 damage, multiplied by 4 by a crit, and by 10 by a headshot, thus 1,080 damage.

EDIT:  Nice avatar.  I need to find one myself.  Perhaps I'll pester one of my artist friends and pay them money.  They always need, and love money.
